There are many companies out there that offer shipping systems with expensive "patented" improvements that really don't add any realistic improvements in shipping time.

EVERY company that ships frozen food offers "Next Day" shipping. Your customers will not want to think of their steaks (or whatever) sitting in a truck for days.

We will shortly offer very inexpensive "use once and discard" insulated shipping boxes. You will never see your shipping box again so expensive "reusable" insulated boxes are of no use to you. Since you will never see your ice packs or shipping boxes again you want the cheapest ones you can find. Inexpensive (cheap) ice packs and inexpensive (cheap) insulated shipping boxes is what you want and what we will supply.

Suggestions on Packing Your Box For Shipping

Perishables Packaging TIPS:

If you are having difficulty keeping your product frozen until it reaches your customer...

...there are three things you can adjust to improve your results.

1 - The length of time you ship. If you are using "Second Day" service and your product is slightly thawed upon arrival you can go to the cheapest "Next Day" service and pack your shipment the same way. Conversely, if you ship "Next Day" and the shipments are arriving with very little change in temperature, try "Second Day" service and see what happens. Assuming your customer agrees, many customers want the perishable to get to them quickly. It is exactly like taking an ice chest full of iced down drinks to the beach on a sunny day. The longer your ice chest sits on the beach the warmer it gets inside until finally all of your ice has melted!

2 - The foam insulation thickness. If you want to add time to your shipping or decrease the amount of thaw you are experiencing, but you don't want to increase the amount of ice packs you use or ship it faster, use thicker insulation. The foam insulation thickness is what controls how fast the heat outside your box is allowed to come into the box and melt your ice packs and your product.

3 - The amount of ice packs used. If you want to add time to your shipping or decrease the amount of thaw you are experiencing, but you don't want to increase the insulation thickness (and by doing so increase the outside dimensions of the box you are using), add more ice packs. Again, it is exactly like taking an ice chest full of iced down drinks to the beach on a sunny day. The more ice you put in the ice chest the longer your drinks will stay cold!

Perishables Packaging TIP:

Using a (three cent) thin cheap plastic bag liner in ANY type of insulated box will add protection by trapping the cold air around your product in case the lid does not fit perfectly. If there are any cracks in the foam around the lid or corners, your precious frozen ice packs will have to cool the warm air that will seep in the crack. Air in the inside of the outer box cardboard (between the insulation and the outer box) will get as hot as the outer cardboard box because it is not INSIDE the foam. Inside the back of a delivery truck can get as hot as 130 degrees in the summer. That means the outside layer (the cardboard box) of your box will be 130 degrees also. Your product can use every little trick you have on days like those, and there WILL be days like those!

Use common sense when hydrating Cold-Stuff Ice Packs...always use a container that is KNOWN TO BE CLEAN! Use clean, fresh tap water to soak the pads. If you do not follow commonly established standards for cleanliness when handling ALL components used in packaging your perishable products, YOU are the only one to blame if YOU contaminate your package or product!

EXAMPLE: You would not pack your food (or any perishable product) in boxes you found in a dumpster so don't hydrate your Cold-Stuff Ice Packs in a used garbage can, bathtub or pond, etc.!
